Terms of Service

1. What Kaya is
Kaya is a personal-finance assistant that captures expenses from multiple sources (Apple Pay Shortcut, Telegram, email forwarding, web entry, REST API) and lets you query, reconcile, and report on them. Kaya is operated by Juan E. Venegas as a personal project; it is not a regulated financial service.
2. Account responsibility
- You're responsible for what you log. Kaya does not verify, audit, or guarantee the accuracy of any expense or balance.
- Keep your password secret. We will never ask for it in email or chat.
- One household per account; you may invite members to your household and revoke them.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Kaya offers a free tier with a metered allowance on LLM-heavy events (receipt photos, statement parses, email-forward ingests, voice notes). The current allowance is 20 events per calendar month and may be adjusted with notice.
- Paid subscriptions (Plus, Family) are billed monthly or annually via the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Pricing is shown in-app before purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled in the App Store at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds are issued by Apple per their refund policy.
- If your subscription lapses, Kaya does not delete your data — you revert to the free tier with the metered cap.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use Kaya to log activity that isn't your own without the account owner's consent (e.g. forwarding someone else's bank emails to your alias).
- Don't attempt to overwhelm the service, bypass rate limits, or reverse-engineer paid features.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to upload (e.g. receipts containing other people's identifiers).
5. Service reliability
Kaya is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running but make no uptime promise. We're not liable for missed expense logging, lost data, or financial decisions you make based on Kaya's reports.
6. Termination
You may delete your account any time (Settings → Account → Delete). We may suspend an account that violates these terms, with at least one prior notice via email except in cases of abuse or legal compulsion.
7. Changes
Material changes will be announced in-app at least 30 days before they take effect.
